Supplies You’ll Need

From Candlehaven

  • Classic Orchid Silicone Mold
  • Pillar Soy Wax
  • Soy Container Wax
  • Cocoa Bloom Fragrance Oil
  • Ruby Red Wax Dye Chips
  • Cotton Wicks
  • Polite Vessels

Additional Supplies

  • Wick stickers
  • Wick centering tool
  • Pouring pitcher
  • Digital scale
  • Thermometer
  • Heat gun (optional)

Step 1: Prepare Your Orchid Embeds

Begin by melting a small amount of Pillar Soy Wax.

Add a tiny amount of Ruby Red Wax Dye Chips to create a soft blush pink colour. For a realistic orchid appearance, you only need a subtle tint. Less is more.

Pour the wax into your Classic Orchid Mold and allow it to fully cool before unmolding.

Set aside.

Pro Tip

Create several orchids at once and keep them on hand for future candle projects.

Step 2: Prepare Your Vessel

Secure a cotton wick in the center of your Polite vessel using a wick sticker.

Use a wick bar or centering tool to keep the wick perfectly straight while pouring.

Step 3: Make the Candle Base

Melt your Soy Container Wax according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

We recommend adding Cocoa Bloom Fragrance Oil at your preferred fragrance load once the wax reaches the proper temperature.

Why Cocoa Bloom?

Cocoa Bloom combines delicate floral notes with velvety cacao and soft musk, creating an elegant fragrance that pairs beautifully with the sophisticated orchid design.

Step 4: Pour the Candle

Allow the wax to cool slightly before pouring into your vessel.

Pour slowly to minimize air bubbles and create a smooth finish.

Leave enough space at the top to accommodate your orchid embed without overflowing the vessel.

Allow the candle to cool completely.

Step 5: Add the Orchid

Once the candle has fully hardened, gently warm the surface using a heat gun.

Press your orchid embed into the softened wax surface.

Position it slightly off-center or directly around the wick depending on the look you prefer.

The warmed wax will act like glue and securely hold the flower in place.

Step 6: Cure and Enjoy

Allow your candle to cure for at least 72 hours before burning.

This gives the fragrance time to fully bind with the wax and produces a stronger scent throw.
