At first glance, the gender reveal candle looks like a beautiful white candle. But light it, wait about 20 minutes, and a hidden sparkly pink or blue center slowly begins to reveal itself as the candle burns. It's affordable to make, easy to customize, and the reveal moment is incredibly satisfying to watch.
Supplies You'll Need:
Pro Tip: A tiny piece of a pink or blue wax dye chip will enhance the reveal colour without overpowering the sparkle effect.
Make the Candle:
- Secure your wick to the center of your Gaia vessel.
- Place a cylindrical mold around the wick to create the hidden reveal cavity. I used a toilet paper roll for my test candle. I wouldn't suggest that but you can use silicone tubes, PVC forms, metal molds, or any heat safe cylinder that can be removed once the wax has cooled.
- Pour your EcoLux wax into the vessel around the mold and allow it to fully cool and harden.
- Carefully remove the center mold, leaving a hollow cavity around the wick.
- Melt a small amount of EcoLux wax and add your Diamond Sparkle Dust along with your optional dye chip.
- Pour the coloured wax into the center cavity and allow it to cool completely.
- Once set, pour a very thin layer of white EcoLux wax across the top surface. This layer should be just thick enough to conceal the colour underneath.
- Don't make this layer too thick. The goal is for the hidden colour to begin revealing itself within approximately 20 minutes of burning.
- Allow the candle to fully cure before lighting.
Light It Up:
The candle begins as a classic white candle.
As the wax melts, the hidden sparkly pink or blue center slowly emerges from beneath the surface, creating a beautiful surprise reveal that guests won't see coming.
It's simple.
It's memorable.
And it makes for one incredibly shareable candle.
Make it. Sell it. Gift it. Post it everywhere.
